What I don't understand about life is how we treat others.
Sure, this is probably just a rant post. But.
Can someone please explain to me how we can say someone is our friend, but then we completely turn our backs on them and expect that to be okay?
I've been in a situation for a few months with an extremely amazing friend.
At first, we both thought we hated each other.
Turns out, we just needed to talk about how we wanted some alcohol, and bam, our issues were resolved.
We didn't know each other. All we knew was that we had one thing in common at the time. And that was drumline.
In fact, she was the one who kicked me off of the bassline and put me on the cymbal line. Which in the end, I'm quite thankful for.
Next to that side note, we talked more and realized that we were extremely alike to the point where we began to finish each others sentences. I'm not joking.
So, here's my rant.
This friend of mine who came into my life when I really needed a friend like her, is dating someone who our group of friends aren't fond of.
My first thoughts were to side with them.. they knew more than me, right?
Wrong.
I've come to realize that as much as I love these boys I'm around, I absolutely want to slap them all until they cry.
Don't take that in a serious manner; I'm a pacifist.
So through this season of mayhem and mishaps, tonight it came to an end.
My best friend showed up with her boyfriend. The drumline was all at one table.
They didn't make room for her.
They didn't acknowledge who was with her.
In fact, the only damn words that came out of their mouths were complete and utter shit towards their relationship.
I don't know the story. I don't care to know.
What I care about is people. We make mistakes. Literally. Every single human being on this earth makes at least one mistake in their life. I know, crazy, right?
So why do we hold on to the things others do?
Why do we ridicule?
Embarrass others?
Especially when they did nothing whatsoever to deserve it.
So here I stand tonight, with a sent text message to all of them letting them know what complete jerks they were, and one amazing best friend.
Who I know would stand up for me, just like I would for her any day.
Maybe one day she'll read this and find it creepy.
Maybe one day she'll read this and find how much she seriously saved my life by being my friend.
But for tonight, all I have to say is one quote by one amazing woman in the celebrity world:
"Be kind to one another." -Ellen DeGeneres
